Only One Side Keeps Score

Your phone knows exactly how long you were on it. Minutes, streaks, watch time, the whole ledger. It counts every second and it never forgets one.

Now name the thing that counted the walk you took instead. Or the twenty minutes you spent on the floor with the dog. Or the nap. Or the phone call with your mother.

Nothing counted those. No board anywhere noticed.

That's not a small gap. It's the entire reason one side keeps winning.

What we learned in Orlando

We brought a stack of coloring pages to a family event and watched which ones people picked up. We expected to learn something about art. What we learned was that almost everybody already has a reset they trust. Petting a dog came up most. Then going outside. Then music.

Nobody needed teaching. They'd all worked it out themselves, years ago, without a single app.

What they didn't have was any way to notice they'd done it.

Three paw prints

So we put three small paw prints in the corner of every new page. See it. Choose. Bank it. You color in the one you reached.

We call them running lights. On a vehicle, running lights aren't for the driver — they're so everybody else can see you coming. A VIP runs lights. So does their Buddy. Nobody runs their lights alone.

This weekend (September 19, 2026) we're at Make 'm Smile SoCal at the Teaching Zoo in Moorpark, presented by Nathaniel's Hope, to find out whether three paw prints read as a gauge when nobody explains them.

We're not going to explain them. That's the test.
