"Polar vortex," he announced, setting his astronaut helmet on the navigation table. "Ten degrees Fahrenheit. Possible snow accumulation. Wind gusts up to 40 mph."
Braveheart looked at the grey sky pressing down on the Mississippi. In the distance, they could see the Memphis skyline and the pyramid reflecting dull winter light.
"We can't sail in this," he said quietly. "Memphis will have to wait."
The crew pulled into an emergency anchorage near Mud Island—a small protected cove where the yacht could ride out the storm without fighting the current. They worked fast: winterized the engines, secured loose deck equipment, stocked the galley with enough food for a week if needed, and sealed every window against the cold.
By nightfall, the temperature had dropped to -8°F. Snow began to fall—not the gentle kind, but the blinding, sideways kind that erases the river and the sky into one grey wall.

They set up a makeshift recording studio in the cabin: Braveheart on vocals, Mo and Om on percussion (literally tapping their paws on a wooden box), Teddy on a small keyboard, and Thera-B recording on a laptop connected to a USB microphone.
